At the Acoustics Group we believe in working on cutting edge applied research. This is driven by new legislation, standards, techniques or equipment. We are in a 3* Architectural School in terms of research according to the REF2021 (Rated 19th out of 157 UK Universities in terms of Research Power). Times Higher Entrepreneurial University 2017. Times University Graduate Employment of the Year 2017 and 2018. QS Ranked 4* University.
The 4th and 5th papers by the Acoustics Group have been accepted to be presented at the IOA 50th Anniversary Conference, Manchester 12/13th September 2024. The first is the PhD work of Alec Korchev entitled, "Wind induced creaking in tall buildings", and second by Dr Haydar Aygun on "Sound transmission through rigid porous materials with and without perforations".
