IOA Certificate Opens for Applicants

LSBU now offers the Institute of Acoustics Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement. The course runs over 5 days: 27/28 September and 4/5th October with the examination and assessments on Friday 7th October 2016. Here's the link

End of Year for the IOA students

The Institute of Acoustics Diploma class of 2015/16 have completed their studies. So after the last exam headed for the now traditional visit to a local beer garden to sample some English culture. Fingers crossed for the exam results. Well done for all your hard work. See you on project day!

Mateusz Garbala wins ANC Prize

LSBU Institute of Acoustics Diploma student Mateusz Garbala has won the 2015 Association of Noise Consultants award for best project. Mat presented his work entitled, "Passenger noise exposure in London Underground" at Acoustics 2015 at Harrogate. Our congratuations goes to Mat for his hard work!

Institute of Acoustics Diploma student presents at annual conference

London South Bank University Institute of Acoustics Diploma student, Tom Whatling, has written a paper based on his Diploma project. At Acoustics 2016 to be held at Kenilworth on 5-6th September 2016 Taylor Woodrow and Westminster City Council have collaborated to produce a paper entitled. "Managing noise and vibration at Victoria Station". We wish Tom luck with his project!

End of Year for the Class of 2015/16

On the 20th May 2016 the tradition of visiting a garden with the students was honoured. The students had completed the Masters course in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics, the marks were in, as was the first round! We hope they all enjoyed the experience, have learnt both practical and theoretical acoustics, and how to present to a panel of experts! Campbell Associates demonstrate Acoustic Camera

On the 20th May 2016 John Campbell of Campbell Associates visited the acoustics laboratory. It was the students last day so they got to play with acoustic camera. They also presented their cheap acoustics project to our panel of experts before heading to the pub for the last time!
