At the Acoustics Group we believe in working on cutting edge applied research. This is driven by new legislation, standards, techniques or equipment. On the 5th December 2022 Professor Stephen Dance submitted an abstract to Inter-Noise 23 to be hosted by the Japanese Acoustical Society in Tokyo. The paper is on the acoustics of a Sitzprobe rehearsal, which we think has never been measured. The musicians were not happy with the sound levels in the orchestra pit.
