LSBU/Royal Academy of Music PhD Scholarship
Over the past 8 years the Acoustics Group have collaborated with the Royal Academy of Music. The Noise Team was originally created to address concerns arising from the introduction of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. A screening audiometric database consisting of over 2500 students has been created. This dataset needs to be developed and analysed, and then related to the musicians sound exposure. The successful candidate will join an active research team, under the supervision of Dr Stephen Dance (Acoustics) and Ms Anne Harriss (Occupational Health), liaising with Dr Bradford Backus (Audio3) and Ms Nicola Mutton (Royal Academy of Music).
The 3 year studentship provides a tax-free stipend of £18,000 per annum plus UK/EU tuition fees. Informal inquiries can be made to Dr Stephen Dance 0207 815 7672, email dances@lsbu.ac.uk. Closing 28th April 2015
