The paper describe a way of accurately objectively assessing the accuracy of your auralisation. The auralisation gets across how the room will sound before it is built or after refurbishment to the non expert.

Acoustics Group deliver 5 Papers at IoA Reading
The Acoustics Group delivered 5 papers at the recent Institute of Acoustics Spring Conference including: Steve's Urban Wind Turbines, Phil's iPod listening levels, Christos's auralisations, Bridget's hearing loss of adults review, Salvador's classical musician noise exposure. 14 LSBU Acousticians at IoA Spring Conference
The Institute of Acoustics Spring Conference was held at Reading 10/11th April 2008. The Acoustics Group had 15 diverse members in attendance including 3 Academics: Prof Shield, Dr Dance, Dr Peters; 6 MSc students Ian Sharps, Ioannis, Hussein Aied, Salva Morant, Phil Wash, Linda Liviani; 5 PhD student Christos Nestoras, Louis Gomez, Georgia Zepidou, Anne Carey, Emma Greenland; and finally 1 exhibitor from Rion, Bob from ANV, another MSc student.

Background Monitoring for Lambeth Urbines
The Acoustics Group have undertaken background noise and vibration monitoring for the installation of 4 new urban wind turbines - urbines on the Ethelred Estate. Lambeth council is following a plan to increase all round energy efficiency on 3 22 storey tower blocks.

New Acoustic Equipment from Rion
A Rion vibration meter has been purchased from ANZ measurement systems. The meter will be used in measuring vibration dose for people in buildings, in particular from the installation of roof-top wind turbines. The Acoustics Group have undertaken 3 consultancy projects for three London Borough Councils for purposed "urbine" installations.

New Acoustic Equipment from Cirrus Research

The Acoustics Group have 5 new Cirrus Research Dosebadges CR:110a. These will be used be Georgia Zepidou who is working on the musicians of the Royal Academy of Music. The badges will supplement the 5 Cirrus badges currently used, as supplied by Sound Research Laboratories.
