Abstract submitted to Auditorium Acoustics 2018

London South Bank University PhD Candidate Eric Ballestero has submitted an abstract to the Institute of Acoustics Auditorium Acoustics 2018 to be held in Hamburg in October 2018 at the new Elbphilharmonie Hall. The paper is entitled, "A Tribute to E-L. Boullee: A Visual and Aural Virtual Reality Experience into the Basilica". We hope you can be there to witness the Oculus system!

IOA LSBU DIPLOMA COHORT AT BS 4142:2014 LONDON MEETING

On the 8th February 2018 the IOA Diploma LSBU students cohort attended with course director Luis Gomez-Agustina the one day meeting on BS 4142:2014 organised by the IOA and held at London South Bank University. The engaging event was extremely educational hearing from the authors of this standard and witnessing the discussions that will shape the next version of this highly popular British Standard. Good questions and suggestions were heard from current and past LSBU acoustics students.

Abstract accepted for Inter-Noise 2018

Dr Stephen Dance has had his abstract accepted for Inter-Noise 2018 to be held in Chicago in August 2018. The paper is joint with former PhD student Ben Dymock and is entitled, "Noise and Vibration from Urban Wind Turbines". We hope you can join us in the windy city!

Four Abstracts Accepted for Acoustics 2018

The Acoustics Group have submitted four abstracts to the Institute of Acoustics annual conference. This year Cardiff will host the event 23-24 April 2018. Two papers have student involvement from the Diploma and Masters course covering ground borne vibration from the tube (Jerry Rees/Luis Gomez) and singing in choral rehearsal spaces (Samantha Liu/Stephen Dance). In addition Professor Shield has written two abstracts on her work on the acoustics of schools. Hope to see you in Cardiff!
