Newman Medal for Doug Shearer
On the 20th February 2016 Doug Shearer was awarded the Acoustical Society of America Newman Medal. The meal is awarded for excellence in architectural acoustics, in this case his Masters thesis. His dissertation was entitled, "Measuring absorption below 100 Hz with a P U Sensor" with the tag line, "absorption coefficient measurements are now easy..." from Farina and Torelli. I have to agree as that is why Doug is now working on his PhD on the subject!
