MSc students visit Tate Modern


On the 20th March 2012 the MSc students visited the Whispering Gallery of St Paul's Cathedral - where they were quiet. So then we visited Tate Modern's turbine hall, where we made a lot of noise trying happy clapping and native calls! It did seem to work, so here's to our first video blog:)

RBA Acoustic Prize Winner 2012

On the 16th March 2012 RBA Acoustics awarded the MSc Environmental and Architectural Acoustics prize to Tamara Potaz. Tamara's project was entitled, "Something not to shout about- An evaluation of the implementation of the City of Buenos Aires’ acoustic pollution legislation and the measures applied to mitigate it". Prize giving is on the 26th April 2012 when the cheque arrives! Well Done Tamara!

RBA Acoustics Seminar

On 13th March 2012 Russell Richardson of RBA Acoustics gave a seminar to the Masters students in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics. Russell gave an overview of life of the consultants and a briefing on the workings of the Assocationof Noise Consultants. This time we ended up eating a chocolate fudge cake!

Peter Mapp Presents 120 Years on Intelligibility

On the 6th March 2012, for the 4th year Peter Mapp came in to teach a Master Class on Intelligibility. Peter then gave some insightful demonstration on the meaning of speech quality. It was enjoyed by all the students.
