Strata Building at Elephant and Castle

Three 17 kW integrated wind turbines are currently being installed at the top of the highest residential skyscapper in the UK. At 42 floors the Strata building's urbines are expected to produce 89 MWhr of electricity per year. That should be enough to power 30 flats, or generate £32,000 through the new feed-in tariff every year!

On the 30th March 2010 the first integrated urbine measurement system was installed on the rooftop of Kestrel House in Central London. On the 1st April the system was checked and the turbine had generated 66 kWh of electricity, with a feed-in tariff of 36p/kWh, that's £23 in two days!
