Luis presents to IOA Musical Acoustics meeting
The Institute of Acoustics Musical Acoustics Group held their annual meeting at Nottingham conference centre on 21st November 2017. Dr Luis Gomez-Agustina delivered a talk on, "The need for acoustics education in performance music syllabi". He had consensus from the audience on the need to provide musicians with some degree of acoustic knowledge.
Hi Luis/Stephen,
ReplyDeleteRe Acoustic education for music performance students.
I've just read a summary in the IoA bulletin which states that "it appears that this initiative has never been considered or implemented before".
I studied BSc Physics at The University of Edinburgh, 2005-2009. All Music students were expected to complete the course 'Musical Acoustics 1A' taught by Profs. Murray Campbell and Clive Greated, which contained basic acoustic principles.
Hope that is of use in your research.
Best wishes,
Georgia Rodgers MIOA
