Zoominar: Quiet Project Update and Plans for the Future
On the 21st April 2021 Professor Stephen Dance will address the Institute of Acoustics and the Association of Noise Consultants membership on the progress of the Quiet Project. The update will provide information on the work thus far and the plans for the work in the coming spring. It is hoped that an annual nationwide noise survey will be a fitting reminder of the effect of the pandemic.

PhD Candidate to present at IOA Musical Acoustics Webinar on Metamaterials
On the 26th May 2021 PhD candidate Eric Ballestero will present his research on, "Metadiffusers - An acoustic solution to improve the environment for musicians" at the IOA Musical Acoustics Group webinar. Paper published in the Journal of Noise and Health
The journal of Noise and Health have published a paper by Prof Dance and Dr Gomez-Agustina entitled, "London Heliport: Noise emissions and the effect on Local Residents". This research was funded by three local authorities: Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea.

Strong Acoustic Group Presence in the Acoustic Bulletin
The March/April 2021 issue of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Bulletin includes three Acoustic Group items. Two articles by Dr Luis Gomez-Agustina. The first one on the online prize giving ceremony for LSBU IOA Diploma students which took place virtually at the IOA London Branch in January 2021. This annual prize competition is sponsored by NTI-Audio to award the best IOA Diploma final project undertaken at LSBU. NTI-Audio UK General manager has congratulated our growing visibility and reputation. The second article summarises the acoustic characterisation survey undertaken in Dec 2020 in London's Greenwich foot tunnel. Thirdly, an item on Prof Dance's Early Career Group seminar, 8th February 2021 on how LSBU Acoustic courses have successfully run despite COVID19 challenging restrictions. We hope you enjoy the read !
